The Invitation

The Return to Ananda

Ananda (Sanskrit)

Meaning "bliss" — not the fleeting happiness that comes from external circumstances, but the profound sense of peace, joy, and wholeness that emerges when we reconnect with our authentic selves.

This retreat is an invitation to return to your Ananda — the blissful state of being, vitality, and inner harmony that has always lived within you. Nestled along the breathtaking coastline of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, Mexico, this secluded sanctuary feels worlds away — yet is just a two-hour drive from Cancún International Airport.

Every journey has its Ithaca.

In Greek mythology, Ithaca symbolizes home — not merely a place, but a return to wisdom, wholeness, and self-discovery.

Together, we'll step away from the noise of everyday life to reconnect with the quiet wisdom within. Through movement, breath, nature, and community, you'll rediscover the vitality, peace, and joy that have always been yours.

"You already know why you're coming. You've felt it."

Now, it's simply time to answer it.

Where six days can change everything.

Our Environment

Sian Ka'an Biosphere —
Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Sian Ka'an {Yucatec Mayan} — "the place where the sky is born"

Return to Ananda is a six-day retreat set on a secluded white-sand cove where the Caribbean Sea, a pristine lagoon, and ancient jungle exist in perfect harmony. Located within the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve — a UNESCO World Heritage Site spanning more than 1.3 million acres of protected wilderness — this extraordinary destination lies just 10 km south of Tulum and approximately two hours from Cancún International Airport.

From beach-front sunrise to lagoon sunsets, the elements are what make this retreat location so unique. To sit rooted under the jungle canopy, upon soft sand, held between two bodies of water is an unforgettable experience. It invites you to slow down, listen deeply, and remember that what you seek has been within you all along.

01

Crystalline Water

The Caribbean here is impossibly clear — protected, unpolluted, and steps from where you sleep. Swim, float, let the water hold you.

02

White Sand Solitude

No crowds. No noise. Powder-white sand shared only with the people who came here for the same reason you did.

03

Total Isolation

The Casa sits within a protected biosphere. Deliberately removed from everything that drains you. Exclusively ours.

04

Jungle & Sea

One of Mexico's most biodiverse ecosystems. Nature is not a backdrop here — it is an active part of the healing.

05

Sacred Night Skies

No light pollution. Just endless stars above Sian Ka'an Biosphere. A fire ceremony under this sky stays with you.

06

UNESCO Protected

A UNESCO World Heritage coastline since 1987. Pristine, ancient, and unchanged in its essence for thousands of years.

A retreat for those who feel the pull to return.

This is not a vacation. Not a fitness program. Not a detox. It is something much quieter, and much more powerful — a deliberate return to the version of yourself that existed before the noise took over.

Embraced by ancient land, suspended between bodies of water, Sian Ka'an provides an environment of transformation — to live wildly attuned, a returning to meet the seat of you.

"The path to the sea. The path back to yourself."

What Retreaters Say

Words from those
who've returned.

★★★★★

"I've spent the last few days letting the retreat experience settle in and I'm still in awe of what you, and what we all created in that short amount of time. I really went in with no expectations and came out the other side renewed in body, mind and soul. Thank you."

— Jerilyn P.

★★★★★

"The yoga retreat was amazing. I truly feel so relaxed for the first time in a long time. It wasn't just about 'relaxing' by the sun and beach — doing yoga and journaling daily helped me reframe my mindset and truly be present. I love how everything was already pre-planned and walking out of my room barefoot. I can't wait to go to the next retreat!!"

— Previous Tulum Retreater

★★★★★

"The retreat exceeded all of my expectations and I'm so grateful for the experience. I came away feeling refreshed, inspired and with lots of new friends! Can't wait till the next one!"

— Jason R.

Terms & Conditions & Liability Waiver

We are honoured that you are considering joining us for this special experience. Due to the intimate nature of the retreat and the substantial commitments required to secure accommodations, the venue, meals, staff, and programming, the following terms apply to all participants.

1. Reservation & Deposit

A $1,000 USD non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your space. A 48-hour grace period is offered following receipt of your deposit — during this time, you may cancel and receive a full refund. After the 48-hour grace period has elapsed, all deposits become non-refundable. Your reservation is not confirmed until your deposit has been received.

2. Payment Plans

Payment plans are available upon request. A $150 USD administrative fee applies to all payment plans. All balances must be paid according to the agreed payment schedule. Failure to complete payments by the specified due dates may result in forfeiture of your reservation and any monies previously paid.

3. Transfer & Cancellation Policy

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. Due to the significant financial commitments made in advance to secure the retreat venue, accommodations, meals, staff, and programming, the following policy applies:

If you are unable to attend, your reservation may be transferred to another participant until December 1, 2026, provided a suitable replacement is found and approved by the retreat organizers. Once the replacement participant has completed registration and payment, any eligible payments made will be refunded less a $150 USD administrative fee. After December 1, 2026, all payments become 100% non-refundable and all reservations become non-transferable, regardless of reason, including illness, injury, personal circumstances, scheduling conflicts, travel delays, or changes in plans. No refunds, credits, or transfers will be issued for late arrivals, early departures, unused services, or no-shows.

4. Mandatory Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is mandatory for all participants. By submitting your deposit, you acknowledge and agree that you will obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering the entirety of your retreat experience, including travel to and from the retreat destination. Your policy should include, at a minimum: trip cancellation and interruption; medical expenses and emergency treatment; emergency evacuation and repatriation; travel delays and missed connections; and loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings. Failure to obtain adequate travel insurance is solely the participant's responsibility.

5. Personal Belongings

Participants are solely responsible for their personal belongings throughout the retreat. The retreat organizers, facilitators, staff, and venue are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal items, including but not limited to luggage, passports, cash, jewelry, electronics, travel documents, or other personal possessions.

6. Property Damage

Participants agree to treat the retreat property, accommodations, furnishings, linens, fixtures, and equipment with care and respect. Any damage, loss, staining, excessive cleaning, or destruction of property caused by a participant will be the sole financial responsibility of that participant. This includes bedding, towels, and linens; furniture and décor; bathroom fixtures, faucets, plumbing, and septic systems; doors, windows, locks, and screens; yoga equipment and retreat amenities; and any other property belonging to the retreat venue. Participants agree to reimburse the retreat organizers and/or venue for the full cost of repair, replacement, restoration, or professional cleaning as determined by the venue.

7. Smoking & Vaping Policy

To preserve a healthy, respectful, and peaceful retreat environment, smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited in all guest accommodations and common areas of the retreat property — including guest rooms, bathrooms, tents, balconies and terraces, dining areas, yoga shalas and practice spaces, and all indoor and shared common areas. Participants who violate this policy may be charged for any damages, deep cleaning, odor removal, or remediation required by the venue. Repeated violations may result in immediate removal from the retreat without refund.

8. Force Majeure

The retreat organizers shall not be held liable for any delay, interruption, modification, or cancellation resulting from circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, government restrictions, pandemics, transportation disruptions, civil unrest, or other force majeure events. No refunds or compensation shall be provided under these circumstances.

LIABILITY WAIVER

Please read the following carefully before submitting your reservation.

I understand and acknowledge that yoga, breathwork, meditation, movement practices, water activities, and all other activities offered during the Return to Ananda retreat involve inherent physical and mental risks, including but not limited to physical injury, emotional release, exhaustion, allergic reactions, and risks associated with activities in a natural outdoor environment. I voluntarily assume full responsibility for all risks, known and unknown, associated with my participation.

10. Health & Medical Clearance

I confirm that I am in good physical and mental health and that I have consulted with a qualified medical professional if I have any pre-existing conditions, injuries, illnesses, or health concerns. I agree to inform the retreat facilitators of any conditions, medications, or limitations that may affect my participation. I understand that participation in all activities is entirely voluntary and at my own risk.

11. Release of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Return to Ananda retreat, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Luna Castilho, Victoria Wainwright, Return to Ananda, Casa Maya Kaan, and all associated staff, contractors, agents, and representatives (collectively, "the Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, and causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury — including death — that may be sustained by me, or to any property belonging to me, during or in connection with the retreat, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.

12. Emergency Medical Treatment

In the event of an emergency, I authorize the retreat organizers to seek medical treatment on my behalf if I am unable to do so myself. I agree to be solely responsible for all costs associated with any medical treatment, emergency evacuation, or repatriation. I acknowledge that the retreat takes place in a remote location within the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve and that access to medical facilities may be limited.

13. Photo & Video Release

I grant permission to Return to Ananda and its facilitators to photograph and film activities during the retreat and to use my likeness in promotional, educational, and social media materials without compensation.
